Hiring our K9 teams for high-profile and heavy pedestrian-flow events, is the most comprehensive K9 security option available, and provide a strong visible and psychological deterrent against criminal and terrorist threats, threatening or unlawful activities, explosives and substances. Hire K9 Explosive Detector Dog (EDD) teams EDD teams are each comprised of a dog and handler, and conduct searches for clients worldwide for a variety of explosive materials.
Trained Explosive Detection K9s
We start by selecting dogs with a high search drive and strong passive alert. Based on their natural characteristics and proven success as detection dogs, Hire K9 Teams prefers to use Labrador Retrievers, Springer Spaniels, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and other qualified dog breeds for all our explosive detection dogs’ contracts. We only choose dogs from proven working dog bloodlines with an impressive level of socialization and a superior sense of smell, strong drive, intelligence, stable temperament and eagerness to please.
We prepare our explosive detection dogs by using actual explosives materials in training, and not simulated scents. Our explosive detection training is thorough; we recreate the scenarios and situations bomb detection dogs will likely encounter when they are deployed in the work field.
DETECTING 15 DIFFERENT COMBINATIONS OF EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS
Our explosive detection dogs are trained to detect the specific scent of a variety of explosive materials. When training is complete our dogs are able to detect approximately 15 different combinations of explosive materials, and they can detect both trace samples and bulk samples.

Our dogs are trained to give a ‘passive-alert’ signal when they detect anything suspicious—they assume an unassisted ‘sit’ position near a suspected explosive device.

Off-leash explosives detection dogs have been deemed by experts to be the most agile and cost-effective method for detection and deterrence applications. Our Trainers methodically build on the hereditary skills and talents of our per-evaluated and medically screened dogs to create what we and our clients consider the best mobile detection assets available. To complete the “package”, we also provide a formalized course of instruction to teach inexperienced (or experienced) handlers how to utilize these dogs to their maximum potential.

Most often, these detection activities allow the EDD teams to detect or quickly rule out the presence of dangerous materials and allow the client to continue operating with minimal or no interruption.
